Eight Outstanding Citizens Honored with Companion of the Star of Merit on St. Kitts and Nevis’ 42nd Independence Anniversary

BASSETERRE – The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis proudly recognizes eight exemplary citizens who have been awarded the Companion of the Star of Merit (C.S.M.) in acknowledgment of their long and meritorious service to the nation on this momentous 42nd Anniversary of Independence.

The Companion of the Star of Merit, a distinguished national honor, is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated sustained excellence through long and meritorious service, or for loyal and devoted service to the Nation.

2025 Companion of the Star of Merit Recipients

  • Pastor Leroy Benjamin Sr. – Religion and Spiritual Leadership
  • Mr. Goldwin O. Caines – Public and Civic Service
  • Dr. Jerome Thomas – Agriculture
  • Mrs. Lydia Thompson-Claxton – Sports
  • Mr. William V. A. Hodge – Education and Academia
  • Ms. Lorozine Williams – Education and Academia
  • Mrs. Dorothy Clarke – Education and Academia
  • Mr. Franklyn Dorset – Law & Justice and Sports

“These eight remarkable individuals embody the spirit of service and dedication that has built our nation over the past four decades,” stated a government representative. “Their long and meritorious service to our nation is an inspiration to us all and reflects the highest ideals of citizenship.”

The Companion of the Star of Merit ceremony forms an integral part of the Independence Day celebrations, highlighting the importance of recognizing citizens who have devoted significant portions of their lives to national service and development.
