His Excellency the Governor-General Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP on Wednesday morning at Government House, St. Kitts received His Excellency Mr. Venkatachalam Mahalingam, High Commissioner of India accredited to Saint Kitts and Nevis. His Excellency the High Commissioner is paying farewell courtesy calls on the Governor-General, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Leader of the Opposition. He retires from 1st July, 2019.
In discussion with His Excellency, the Indian High Commissioner recalled the excellent relations between our two Governments. His Excellency the Governor-General recalled his visit to India in 1983 when as Attorney General he was part of the delegation attending our first Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held in New Delhi, India.
His Excellency the High Commissioner expressed his Government’s appreciation for the support of Saint Kitts and Nevis for India on many international agencies and pledged continued cooperation on several initiatives.
His Excellency the Governor-General thanked High Commissioner Mahalingam for his period of service and wished him well in all of his future endeavours.
