Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 25 2021 (ZIZ News) Commissioner of Prisons, Terrance James says the rehabilitative programmes within Her Majesty’s Prison are geared towards making the residents self-sufficient when they re-enter society.
Giving an overview of the HMP programmes Mr James said the aim to to give the inmates the skills necessary to start a business and become productive members of society.
He said the programmes tap into the skills the inmates already possess and help to develop them to a point where they can be self-sufficient, while at the same time changing the perception of the role of the prison.
