Jayhawks Clinch Junior Championship in Thrilling Finale

BASSETERRE: In a high-octane showdown at the SKNABA Junior Finals, the ASC Jayhawks defeated the Youth & Sports Raiders 97-82 to capture the 2026 Junior Championship title. The decisive Game 3 victory capped off a hard-fought series and sent the home crowd into celebration at the gymnasium.

The Jayhawks came out firing, led by an explosive performance from Daivique Osbourne, who dropped a game-high 44 points while adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and relentless energy on both ends. His scoring barrage set the tone early and kept the Raiders on their heels throughout the night.

But the true heartbeat of the championship run was Jayzane Hodge (#11), who earned Player of the Game honors with a monstrous all-around stat line: 24 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists, 7 steals, and 3 blocks. Hodge’s dominance on the glass and defensive disruptions proved pivotal, controlling the paint and forcing turnovers that fueled fast-break opportunities for his teammates.

Supporting the stars, Tzahree Matthew contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds, while C’Quanie Carey added 7 points and 8 boards. The Jayhawks’ balanced attack and suffocating defense overwhelmed the Raiders, who fought valiantly but couldn’t match the hosts’ intensity in the final stages.

For the Raiders, Malique Newton was a standout with 38 points and 6 rebounds, while Kamal Brandy posted 17 points, 19 rebounds, and 4 blocks in a valiant effort. Kenuel Sargeant also impressed with 10 points and a team-high 10 steals. Despite these strong individual performances, the Raiders were unable to contain the Jayhawks’ collective firepower.
