Leader of the Opposition pays tribute to the Hon. Joseph Parry as he retires from politics

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 7, 2019 (ZIZ News): Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Hon. Denzil Douglas, has extended his best wishes to former Nevis Premier Honourable Joseph Walcott Parry.

In his tribute to the Mr. Parry on Tuesday, Dr. Douglas said, “After some 32 years of an illustrious and fulfilling political career Mr. Parry has left and enduring legacy on with future generations of leader ship within the Nevis Reformation Party can build”

He added, “Over the course of his remarkable life, Mr. Parry’s aim has always been to serve and lift people up. He did it as a teacher as a pioneer in the banking sector in (Nevis) and as a sportsman extraordinaire. It was his inclination towards servant- leadership that attracted him to the field of politics as this would allow him a great platform for service and advocacy and he did exploits for the advancement of our people at both the local and federal levels.”

Dr. Douglas thanked Mr. Joseph Parry for being an “exemplary statesman and role model” that he has been and wished him and his family all Gods richest blessings.

He said although Mr. Parry has retired from politics he is certain that he will never completely remove himself from “service to the good people of Nevis and the Federation as a whole.”
