The leader of the People’s Action Movement, Lindsey Grant, has spoken out against the tour bus robbery on Sunday.
In a statement to the press, Mr. Grant said he is saddened by the incident and his heart goes out to the victims.
He said that the international attention that this incident has attracted to the robbery of these 17 tourists is a threat to our very survival as they directly threaten our main industry: tourism.
He also assured potential visitors and citizens that his party has every confidence in the security forces of this country and their ability to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly crime to justice.
He also called on all citizens to help saying “we all must take personal responsibility and play our part in this fight against crime to ensure the safety of each other. We must report any suspicious activity to the police and we must freely offer information to the authorities.”
