Ministry Of Health Held Vaccination Public Education In St. Pauls

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 12th,  2021 (ZIZ News) The Ministry of Health’s public education drive on the COVID-19 vaccine continued on Thursday night with a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic and Information Session at the St. Paul’s Community Center.

In attendance were Medical Chief of Staff at the JNF General Hospital, Dr. Cameron Wilkinson; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Delores Stapleton Harris and District Medical Officer, Dr. Bernicia Nisbett.

Dr. Wilkinson gave a brief history on vaccinations and spoke of the safety of the Covid-19 vaccine noting that more that 90 percent of doctors in the federation have been vaccinated.

Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris was also in attendance and during his remarks he commended the people of St. Paul’s and the surrounding community who attended the session.

He also spoke of the issue of larger countries hoarding the vaccines for their citizens noting that persons should not wait to get vaccinated because there is no guarantee vaccines will be available.

Following the Prime Minister’s remarks persons in attendance were invited to ask questions and have them answered by the medical experts on the panel.

The session forms part of the Government’s broader public education programme on vaccination that is continuing across the Federation.
