Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 7, 2019 (ZIZ News): During his featured presentation centred around Science and Technology, Innovation and Economic Development, world renowned Educator and motivational speaker Dr Freeman A. Hrabowski encouraged the audience to find ways to make children excited about Math, Science, and Engineering as the new world of work requires careers with “a heavy technological focus”.
He was at the time delivering his presentation at Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris’ Prime Minister’s Gala 2020 on Saturday.
Dr Hrabowski said that the people of St. Kitts and Nevis should harvest a culture that promotes Science and Technology and not just the Arts.
Dr Hrabowski has served as president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County since 1992. In 2012 President Barack Obama selected him to chair President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for African Americans.
He was in 2012 named by Time Magazine one of The World’s 100 Most Influential People.
