New Police Recruits Begin Training

BASSETERRE: Prime Minister The Hon Dr. Terrance Drew was among those present on Monday to welcome the new intake of thirty police recruits as they begin training to serve the Federation.

The opening ceremony for Police Training Course #47 of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force took place at the police academy in ponds pasture.

The Prime Minister, who heads the Ministry of National Security, commended the twenty men and ten women for answering the call to service, describing policing as a career built on responsibility, discipline and honour.

“It was inspiring to see these young men and women step forward to serve our Federation. Choosing a life of service in law enforcement is not an easy path, but it is one rooted in courage, discipline, and a deep commitment to protecting our communities,” Dr. Drew said. “I encouraged the recruits to embrace the responsibility and honour that come with the uniform, and to remember that the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis are depending on them to uphold justice, safeguard our communities, and strengthen the peace we all value.”

The recruits will now begin a period of structured and demanding training, designed to equip them with the skills needed to keep communities safe.
