Old Road Regular Season Champions with Unbeaten Record

BASSETERRE: MFCR Old Road United Jets clinched the National Bank Group/SKNFA Premier League Regular Season Championship Saturday night with a commanding 3-1 victory over second-place Honda Newtown United, securing the title with three matches to spare while maintaining their perfect unbeaten record.

Tiquanny Williams delivered when it mattered most, scoring twice in a seven-minute span to seal the victory after Newtown had briefly threatened a comeback. Jardel Isaac opened the scoring in the 28th minute to give Old Road a 1-0 halftime lead, before Williams’ 67th-minute penalty and 70th-minute strike put the result beyond doubt despite Devauhn Mills’ 63rd-minute goal for Newtown.

The victory extends Old Road’s remarkable unbeaten streak to 15 matches, a testament to the incredible consistency, determination, and teamwork displayed throughout the season. With 43 points from 15 matches and a 14-1-0 record, the Jets have soared above all competition, setting new standards of excellence in the Premier League.

“This remarkable run is a testament to the players, coaching staff, management, and loyal supporters who have stood behind the team every step of the way” the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association said in congratulating the champions. “The momentum is strong and the belief is even stronger”

For Newtown, the defeat ends any realistic title hopes as they remain 12 points behind the champions with just three matches remaining. Despite their own strong campaign, they were simply unable to match Old Road’s relentless consistency over the course of the season.

Old Road’s championship triumph marks an outstanding achievement for the club, who have dominated from start to finish. With the hard work having paid off and the stage set for an exciting finish to the season, the Jets can now focus on completing an unbeaten campaign while preparing for the playoffs.
