Petition Strike Out Case Day Two Wraps Up

ZIZ Newsroom…July 22, 2010, Basseterre – The legal counsel for the Hon Glen Phillip say they are optimistic about the outcome of the case to strike out a petition filed by the Peoples Action Movement.

Today was day two of the hearing where Lindsey Grant made arguments about why the petition should not be struck out.

At the end of the day, the judge has reserved judgment and says she will give a ruling before September.

Lawyer Anthony Astaphan, who is representing Minister Phillip, says they think it went very well and they’re very optimistic.

Meanwhile, the petition brought by Cedric Liburd against the Hon Eugene Hamilton will be heard tomorrow.

The petitions arose after the 2010 general elections where The Labour Party took 6 seats and PAM took 2.
