PM Drew Holds Urgent Security Meeting with Top Officials

Basseterre — Prime Minister and Minister of National Security The Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew held an urgent two-and-a-half-hour meeting with the country’s top security leaders on Saturday to address the recent increase in criminal activity.

The high-level meeting at Government Headquarters brought together the Commissioner of Police, the Defence Force Commander, and other senior security officials. Discussions focused on current ground operations, intelligence reports, and strategies to maintain public safety.

Dr. Drew was briefed on active measures already in place and reaffirmed the government’s full commitment to providing all necessary resources so law enforcement agencies can carry out their duties effectively.

“The government is fully committed and will continue to support our security forces,” the Prime Minister stated. Officials emphasised that security agencies are working closely together using targeted approaches to protect communities.

The Ministry of National Security described the response as urgent yet professional, while assuring the public that all systems are active and ready. The Prime Minister acknowledged public concern and urged anyone with useful information to come forward and assist ongoing investigations.
