BASSETERRE: Prime Minister The Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew visited the Police Training Complex in Newtown this morning to meet with new recruits of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, including Island Constables and Traffic Wardens.
During his visit, Dr. Drew thanked the young men and women for choosing to serve their nation and emphasized the importance of professionalism in their new roles.
The Prime Minister delivered a clear message about the expectations for new officers.
“Your task in the organisation is critically important, and so I want you to take your profession seriously. Apply it with respect. Apply it with dignity. Apply it fairly and justly. But most of all, make sure that you follow the law and apply what you were taught,” the Prime Minister said.
Dr. Drew commended the recruits for selecting a career path centered on discipline, duty, and service to the Federation. He reminded them that they are now members of one of the nation’s most essential institutions.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed his government’s dedication to supporting security services across St. Kitts and Nevis. He pledged to ensure officers receive proper tools and training necessary to maintain community safety.
