PM Holds Talks with EU Commissioner

SANTA MARTA, COLOMBIA:  Ahead of Sunday’s official opening of the Fourth CELAC–EU Summit in Colombia, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance M. Drew, had productive discussions on Saturday with His Excellency Magnus Brunner, European Union Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration.

Dr. Drew was joined by Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Executive Chair of the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit, His Excellency Calvin St. Juste.

“We spoke openly about strengthening cooperation, building even greater transparency and security within our CBI framework, and advancing the strong and lomgstanding partnership between St. Kitts and Nevis and the European Union,” said Prime Minister Drew following the meeting.

Prime Minister Drew is leading the delegation to the Fourth CELAC-EU Summit in Colombia.

Leaders of the 27 European Union (EU) member states and the 33 countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) meet from 9-10 November 2025 for the summit which underscores the commitment of both regions to strengthen their longstanding partnership, which is founded on shared values and interests as well as and strong economic, social and cultural ties.

The meeting will be co-chaired by the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, in his current role as CELAC pro tempore president, and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
