(ZIZ News) — Arrests

Darren Francis of Rawlins Housing, St. Paul Village was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis, which was committed on Friday 3st October 2014 at Potential Bar, Cayon Street.

Ricardo George of Pitcairn Street, Newtown was formally arrested and charged for Larceny, which was committed on Thursday 30th October 2014 at Ram’s Supermarket, Bird Rock.

Calvin Warde of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point was formally arrested and charged for Battery on Police, Obstruction, and Possession of Cannabis, which were committed on 22 October 2014 and 29th October 2014 at Cleverly Hill and Half Way Tree respectively.

Court Convictions

District “A” Magistrate Court

Deshea Prentice of Malone Avenue was convicted on two (2) counts of Breaching His Injunction/Protection Order, which were committed 10th September 2014 and 12th September 2014, and sentenced to six (6) months in prison with hard labour for each count which are to run consecutively, and they are to to run concurrently with four (4) months sentence he is presently serving.

Felix Hughes of Irish Town was convicted for the Receiving which was committed between 3rd February 2014 and 20th June 2014, and sentenced to ten (10) months in prison with hard labour.

Two (2) Persons Transported to Hospital as a Result of Traffic Accident

The Sandy Point Police Station is investigating a traffic accident which occurred along the Island main Road at New Guinea on Saturday 1st November 2014 around 6:30 pm which resulted in two (2) persons being transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Initial investigation revealed that Motor Omnibus HA 62 owned by Ridelle Marshall of Stone Fort Heights and driven by Wayne Grant of Challengers and motor pick-up P 1182 owned and driven by Austin Duncan of Downing Street, Sandy Point were involved in the accident. Two (2) passengers of motor omnibus HA 62 were transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Three (3) Persons Transported to Hospital as a Result of Traffic Accident

The Old Road Police Station is investigating a traffic accident which occurred in West Farm in the vicinity of ROSS University School of Veterinary Medicine which occurred on Friday 31 October 2014 about 8:50 PM, which resulted in three (3) persons being transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Initial investigation revealed that Motor Jeep P 2292 which was driven by Ian Bolus of Station Street, Old Road and motor van PA 7782 owned and driven by Giddel Smithen of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point were involved in the accident. They were travelling in opposite direction when the accident occurred; both drivers and a passenger of motor van PA 7782 were transported to the hospital.
