Prime Minister’s Delegation Hard At Work In New York

(ZIZ News) — Prime Minister the Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, who is leading a delegation in New York, has given an update on his trip so far.

In an exclusive interview with ZIZ News, he described his schedule as hectic but said the entire delegation is at work.

Other members of that delegation are Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Mark Brantley, Ambassador Plenipotentiary His Excellency Sam Condor, His Excellency Carlisle Richardson of the St. Kitts-Nevis Mission, and Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Osbert DeSuza.

“That delegation has made it very possible for us to facilitate a number of requests that had been made by a number of countries for discussions with St. Kitts and Nevis and in some cases, we have been able to do a number of meetings simultaneously because we have been able, as it were, to sub-divide the work among the members of the delegation and to have appropriate levels of leadership taking each of the meetings,” he said.

Dr. Harris then spoke of the meetings he has had so far and said another meeting is being planned for nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“So far, we are operating on a very hectic schedule. This morning, I delivered a statement, on behalf of St. Kitts and Nevis, at the General Assembly. Since that, I have held a meeting, brief meeting with nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis. As you may be aware, tomorrow evening, we’re going to be having a town hall meeting with our nationals in New York and so, the earlier meeting was with the leadership of the St. Kitts and Nevis associations here to ask for their help in mobilising our nationals to that meeting,” he said.
