Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 18, 2020 (ZIZ News):Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine has made a donation of thirteen thousand four hundred and forty one dollars to the St. Kitts Nevis Explorers Youth Clubs.
In presenting the cheque at a ceremony held on Monday, vice president of operations at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine Ray Francis said Ross University and its parent company Adtalem are proud to partner with organizations focused on providing opportunities for young people.
He congratulated the club and its mentors for their successes thus far.
“Ross University is focused on education and empowerment of people. Our parent company Adtalem is so named because Adtalem means empowerment and we believe that we can change lives, we can change societies, we can certainly change our stars if we empower young people and give them opportunities. So I congratulate the MolPhil Explorers Club, I congratulate P.S. Petty yet again for his passion for young people and for this club and I congratulate Inspector Isles-Joseph for all the work that she’s done and the visionary work that she’s done int hat respect and to young people like Mr. York who without them and their willingness to participate and be examples in their community, clubs like this cannot be successful. We are proud of you, we are happy to partner with you and we look forward to a continuing blossoming partnership,” he said,
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security Osmond Petty thanked Ross University for the donation and its support over the past three years.
He spoke of the significance of this type of partnership.
“Support from the private sector institutions and other organizations such as Ross University is very critical if the Explorers Club movement is going to achieve its goals.”
Mr. Petty also assured the university that the monetary donation will be put to good use.
“The money that we have received has been used to finance educational, social and developmental activities for MolPhil and other Explorers clubs and some of these can be seen on our Facebook page. We have an extensive Facebook page RSCNPF Youth Explorers and there are a lot of pictures there which are posted showing the activities of Explorers and so your money is being put to good use and we look forward to your continued support.”
To date there are 9 established Explorers clubs with 3 more to be launched in the future.
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine has partnered and sponsored the Explorer’s Club for the past three years with donations totalling over 40 thousand dollars.
