BASSETERRE: The St. Kitts–Nevis Amateur Basketball Association (SKNABA) is set to tip off the 2026 season this Saturday, March 14th, with the Grand Reopening of Basketball City and the launch of the National Bank Group & South Beach Promo Premier League.
Defending champions Bird Rock Uprisers will be among the four club teams taking the court on opening night, looking to prove they remain the team to beat as the new campaign gets underway. They face the Sandy Point Falcons in the evening’s marquee 8:00 PM matchup.
The action begins earlier, at 6:30 PM, when the Cayon Lions take on Ram’s Hitters in what promises to be a fiercely competitive opener.
Admission is set at $10 XCD, and SKNABA is encouraging residents across the federation to come out and fill the stands.
“Bring the family, bring the noise, and let’s pack the court,” the association said in its announcement — a rallying call that signals the federation’s basketball community is ready to return in full force.
The evening marks more than just the start of a new season. The reopening of Basketball City carries significance for players, fans, and the broader sporting community on the island, representing a renewed home base for the sport at its highest local level.
With the Uprisers carrying a championship target on their backs and three hungry clubs ready to dethrone them, the 2026 Premier League is shaping up to be must-watch basketball from the very first whistle.
Basketball City, Saturday, March 14th. First tip-off at 6:30 PM.
