Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 24th, 2020 (ZIZ News): St. Kitts and Nevis is being featured in a video by Tripoto entitled “8 countries that have beaten coronavirus.
Tripoto is social travel platform where persons can share travel experiences, stories, community, tourism guides, hotels, holidays, getaways, attractions and maps.
The video that is being shared on social media praises 8 countries that have “won the war against coronavirus and are now free of Covid-19 with zero active cases.
The other countries are Fiji, Montenegro, Seychelles, Papua New Guinea, Vatican City, Eritrea, and East Timor.
The video says the listed countries have “set an example for the rest of the world”
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Carlene Henry Morton told ZIZ “When we look at the ravages of COVID-19 globally we must feel blessed to be among 8 destinations that have been successfully managing the virus.
She continued “As we enter the initial stages of restoring and reenergising our tourism sector the Ministry continues to stress the importance of physical distancing, sanitising, wearing masks and generally observing the protocols that earned us this distinction.”
Mrs Henry Morton concluded by saying ”Our COVID-19 free status is certainly a plug for our tourism product, when travel resumes in the future. Careful preparation for this eventuality continues.”
