Social Security Christmas Cheer Project

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 21, 2021 — The St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board executed its twelfth consecutive year of distributing care packages through its annual Christmas Cheer Project.

The project aims to deliver food items to some of the most socially vulnerable groups, including recipients of Social Security Assistance Pensions and Invalidity Pensions.

One hundred (100) persons received care packages containing Milk, Oats, Vienna Sausages, Tuna, Sardines, Macaroni & Cheese, Crackers, Rice, and Toiletries.

The Social Security Board is cognizant of the importance of providing much needed relief especially considering the COVID-19 Pandemic and financial impact on struggling families.

As a conscientious corporate citizen, Social Security is committed to ensuring that our social programs are impactful and serve all stakeholders. This support was demonstrated earlier in the year through the provision of food vouchers issued to over 1375 families.  $250 000 was expended on that initiative.

The Christmas Cheer Project provides an opportunity to bring cheer to families during the festive season, uplifting spirits and providing basic needs during the holidays.
