Basseterre, St. Kitts, Jan 30, 2024 (ZIZ Newsroom): Minister of Tourism, Hon. Marsha Henderson joined the hosts of New York Living on PIX11 to share travel insight on St. Kitts.
The interview which spanned approximately 6 minutes saw Minister Henderson interacting with hosts Alex Lee and Marysol Castro about the destination’s offerings.
Minister Henderson shared winter promotions available in St. Kitts.
She stated, “So we now have a winter promotion where we have a number of properties here in St. Kitts participating in the winter promotion. So, we have a number of properties here in St. Kitts ranging from luxury properties, so we have our five-star brands, that’s the Park Hyatt, and then we have, for those who are on a budget, they can consider possibly Sugar Bay, or even Timothy Beach. And then we have those in the middle, like the Marriott and all the other brands. And so, for the winter special, what we have is you pay for seven nights and you get some nights free. So, the St. Kitts Marriott is offering- you pay for seven nights and you get, you pay for seven nights, you get two nights free. At the Belmont Farm, you pay for five nights and you get two nights free. A number of the properties have similar promotions where you stay for seven nights and you only end up paying for five nights.”
Responding to the question of what sets St. Kitts apart as a travel destination, Minister Henderson spoke of the pursuit of St. Kitts as a Sustainable Island State.
“We do have a number of eco adventure and we are pursuing a sustainable island state agenda and all of our practices with our industry partners and stakeholders is based on sustainability. For us here in St. Kitts, sustainability is a way of living. Even our properties are, we have a Sunset Reap Hotel and they have the best solar power and advanced technology for, how they power their property, their hotel. We have the farm to table experience. So, we believe in eating what we grow. We have the farm to table, the ocean to fork. You can go down to Arthur’s restaurant and be a part. of the farm to table experience. We also encourage our industry partners to, you know, save on plastic. We are embarking on coastline initiatives.”
Minister Henderson also made mention of the farm-to-table initiatives across the island, excursions, and the Rum Master programme.
