Storytelling Children’s Series: A Boating Disaster

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 10, 2020 (ZIZ News): St. Christopher National Trust Annual Summer Heritage House Storytelling Children’s Series continued on Saturday with a special presentation of the story of the Christena Disaster, read by Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley.

The premier read aloud the story “A Boating Disaster” to dozens of children in the Christena Disaster exhibition room that was opened recently.

On his official Facebook page Premier Brantley said “I read to our youth at the National Museum the tragic story of the sinking of the MV Christena which killed 233 persons in the sea between St. Kitts and Nevis on 1st August 1970. We shall never forget.”

The St. Christopher National Trust Annual Summer Heritage House Storytelling Children’s Series which began on July 11th is held every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and runs until August 29th.

Throughout the interactive session, the children were given the opportunity to ask and answer questions.

The sessions are carried live on ZIZ TV Channel 5 and online via the ZIZ Online Facebook page and YouTube Channel.
