Sugar Mas 43 Continues on Monday Evening

(ZIZ News) — Sugar Mas 43 continues, this week, with a number of exciting events. This comes after weeks of private and Carnival committee-organised activities.

Today [Monday], will see four of the Federation’s top bands providing entertainment at the Sugar Mill.

ZIZ has confirmed that the Kollision, Grand Masters, Nu Vybes and Small Axe bands will be featured from 7pm at the Sugar Mill for a cost of $5.

Tuesday December 23rd will see the staging of the Junior Calypso Monarch and Steel pan Festival. A more mellow mood will be taken on Thursday [Christmas Day] when GMS hosts its E.P.I.C. 2 Boat Ride.

J’ouvert troupes will be on display on Friday for the annual j’ouvert jam through the streets of Basseterre while Inception Fete will round up this week’s activities.

This year’s Carnival has so far crowned four winners: Unexpected as “Best of the Rest” calypso king, Mr. Bagnall as the new TDC Groovy Soca Monarch, Sugarbowl as the ZIZ Power Soca Monarch, and the Basseterre High School’s Rikki Blake Brooks as the new National Talented Teen queen.

Meantime, S.L. Horsfords St. Paul’s United are this year’s Carnival cup winners.

Sugar Mas 43 is being celebrated under the theme “Join the Fun and Revelry Sugar Mas 43.”
