TAIPEI, TAIWAN, MARCH 7TH (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas was greeted at Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport Tuesday morning (Monday night St. Kitts and Nevis time) by Taiwan’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Hou, pin-fu at the start of an official visit to the Asian nation.
Foreign Minister Hou exchanged greetings with Prime Minister Douglas and members of his delegation which included Minister of Public Works, Utilities and Energy, the Hon. Dr. Earl Asim Martin, Chief Secretary, Mr. Joseph Edmeade, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Mrs. Hillary Hazel and Accountant General, Mr. Levi Bradshaw.
Among the welcome party, was Taiwan’s Resident Ambassador in St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency, Miguel Tsao and St. Kitts and Nevis Resident Ambassador in Taipei, Her Excellency Jasmine E. Huggins.

During the visit, the St. Kitts and Nevis leader will meet and hold separate talks with Taiwan President, His Excellency Ma Ying-jeou; Premier, His Excellency Wu Den-Yih and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Timothy C.T. Yang.
Prime Minister Douglas and his delegation will be guest of honour at a luncheon hosted by President Ma and a dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Yang.
Dr. Douglas will also visit the St. Kitts and Nevis Embassy in Taipei and meet with Ambassador Huggins and St. Kitts and Nevis students studying in Taiwan.
During the visit St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of China on Taiwan are expected to sign a “Cooperation Programme on Model Tourism Farms.”
Other members of the delegation are Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mr. Erasmus Williams and Information Officer, Mr. Charles Jong.

Prime Minister Douglas and his delegation visited Motech Industries, the largest solar cell manufacturer in Taiwan and one of the top ten manufacturers worldwide in terms of production capacity and output on Tuesday. In addition, Motech is also Taiwan’s leading provider of photovoltaic systems and photovoltaic inverters.
Visits will also be made to the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, the Xinsheng Park, the Lanyang Museum and the Horticulture Department at King Car Biotechnology Industrial Co. Ltd.
