King Pungwa – Reigning Calypso Monarch |
ZIZ News…Dec 28, 2011 – Thousands of calypso lovers and pundits are expected to descend on the Sugar Mill later tonight to witness calypso at its best.
It boils down to the top eight calypsonians in St. Kitts and Nevis as they go head to head to see who would be crowned the 2011/2012 Calypso King.
Those doing battle tonight are the King Konris who is back after a short break, Big Lice, I Soursop, Queen Anastasia, King Godfrey, King Socrates and Mighty Takeover all doing battle against King Pungwa.
The Calypso Finals is one of the most popular carnival events over the forty years of National Carnival in St. Kitts and Nevis and usually draws a big crowd to the venue.
The show will be hosted by Calypso Reggie with musical accompaniment by members of the Legends Band and the Grand Masters. The show will be carried live on ZIZ Radio and video streamed on the World Wide Web on ZIZOnline.com.
