Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 8th, 2021 (ZIZ News) Minister of Health, the Hon. Akilah Byron-Nisbett is assuring the public that the Astrazeneca Covid-19 vaccines that the federation will be receiving shortly are absolutely safe.
In an interview with ZIZ News on Wednesday Minister Byron Nisbett said the federation is expected to receive the first batch of vaccines in a few weeks and reassured that the vaccines have gone through the required testing procedures to ensure their safety.
Minister Byron-Nisbett also noted that once the vaccines arrive they will not be mandatory and persons would be free to choose whether or not to take the vaccine.
On Tuesday Minister Byron-Nisbett and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Hazel Laws participated in the 4th Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator Facilitation Council meeting which addressed, among other things, the need to accelerate fair and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.
