Three Kittitian Women Represent Leewards in Cricket

BASSETERRE — Three St. Kitts female cricketers will compete for the Leeward Islands Senior Women’s Team in the CWI Women’s Regional T20 Blaze and Super50 Competition in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Leading the trio is 20-year-old Jahzara Claxton, who has represented Cricket West Indies at two ICC World Cups. She’s joined by 17-year-old Aaliyah Weekes, who participated in the 2025 ICC Women’s Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia and has been selected for the 2027 tournament, and 19-year-old Kayze Boyles, a product of the Leeward Islands Under-19 Programme.

“This significant achievement reflects the players’ dedication, discipline, and continued growth within the sport,” the St. Kitts Cricket Association stated. “The SKCA is immensely proud to see these young athletes progress to the regional senior stage and continue to represent St. Kitts with distinction.”

The Leeward Islands squad will be guided by Mr. Percy Daniel, a highly respected and experienced coach serving as Head Coach. His leadership and technical expertise are expected to play a vital role throughout the tournament.

The selection of three Kittitian players to the regional senior team marks an important milestone for women’s cricket development in St. Kitts and Nevis, showcasing the effectiveness of local youth cricket programmes.
