Tourism Celebrates Industry Pioneers

BASSETERRE: The St. Kitts Tourism Authority held a special training session on Tuesday, October 14, honoring the pioneers who have shaped the island’s tourism industry.

The Pioneers of the Industry Training, organized by the Ministry of Tourism as part of Tourism Month activities, brought together hospitality professionals for a day of learning and recognition. The session was led by Goldha Franks, Training Manager at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, and Shaline Welcome-Hart, Senior Tourism Officer at the St. Kitts Eco Park.

Participants refreshed their knowledge of current industry standards while sharing valuable best practices accumulated over years of service. Discussions focused on maintaining service excellence and adapting to evolving visitor expectations in today’s competitive tourism landscape.

“This session celebrated the dedication of long-standing employees who continue to uphold St. Kitts’ reputation as a leading destination,” a spokesperson for the St. Kitts Tourism Authority stated.

The training underscores the Tourism Authority’s commitment to recognizing experienced professionals whose contributions have been instrumental in establishing St. Kitts as a premier Caribbean destination. By combining skills development with acknowledgment of employees, the initiative aims to preserve institutional knowledge while ensuring the island’s tourism sector remains competitive.
