The Miami-based National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said that 5.00 am (local time), the centre of the storm was estimated at near latitude 13.0 north, longitude 57.0 west and moving towards the west-northwest near 20 miles per hour (MPH).
It said that on this general motion, the storm is expected to continue for the next couple of days on the forecast track.
“Bertha is expected to pass near or north of Barbados this afternoon and move through the central Lesser Antilles tonight and into the northeastern Caribbean on Saturday.”
