Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 30, 2019 (ZIZ News): Ongoing road work around the island, updates on traffic rules near the Bay Road and the West Bus Terminal and complaints about vendors blocking sidewalks in Basseterre were all topics of discussion on the ZIZ radio program, “On the Road” on Wednesday.

Head of Traffic Department, Inspector Phillip Eddy and Constable Donaly Liburd-Chiverton addressed these issues following several calls from members of the public.

Constable Liburd-Chiverton said that the problem of vendors blocking sidewalks has become a growing issue that needs addressing. She also condemned those persons who have tried turning the issue into a political matter, noting that it affects the safety of pedestrians and drivers.

She said however that the Traffic Department is calling on all stakeholders to assist the department with solutions.

On the Road airs every Wednesday between 8:30-9 a.m. on the ZIZ Morning Show with radio host G-Cue.
