BASSETERRE (20th June, 2011) The island of St. Kitts is buzzing with excitement as work begins to transform the cricket stadium of Warner Park into a world-class concert venue for the 15th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival, which roars into action from Thursday 23rd June to Saturday 25th June, 2011.
This year Fantasia will headline an electrifying lineup of artists, which will include the legendary Commodores, UB40’s Ali Campbell, Jah Cure, Bunny Wailer and Gyptian. Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Rosecita Jeffers, said she expects an influx of returning nationals and visitors to start arriving today for the occasion. With flights and hotels almost completely sold out on dates surrounding St. Kitts Music Festival, CEO Jeffers pointed out that the Music Festival continues to provide tourism benefits for the island.
“The St. Kitts Tourism Authority is a strong supporter of the annual Music Festival, as it provides a boost in visitor arrivals and generates revenue for local businesses during the month of June,” Jeffers said. “This year’s stellar lineup in celebration of the 15th Anniversary of our Music Festival should serve to attract music lovers from across the Caribbean and internationally to our shores.”
To provide more opportunities to come to St. Kitts, the St. Kitts Music Festival Committee has chartered the MV Sea Caribsurf to leave St. Maarten at 1 p.m. from Bobby’s Marina on Thursday 23rd June, 2011. The MV Sea Caribsurf will return to St. Maarten on Sunday 26th June, leaving at 1 p.m., from the Ferry Terminal in Basseterre.
Various packages are available with this charter. For US$550, the package includes round-trip passage, a season ticket and accommodation for three nights in St. Kitts for one individual. For US$345, the package includes roundtrip passage and ticket only, or, for US$200 the package includes roundtrip passage only.
The 15th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival kicks of on Thursday 23rd June with performances by the Nu Vybes International Band, Small Axe Band, Ali Campbell’s UB40, Bunny Wailer, Mic Stokes, King Konris, Xman and The Kore featuring Gharlic.

On Friday, 24th the Music Festival will erupt with pure dancehall and reggae vibes from Gyptian, Demarco, Konshens, Black Ryno, Maxi Priest, Coco Tea and Yellow Man.

Then on Saturday night, Jah Cure, The Commodores, Fantasia and East Meets West will take center stage.
Tickets to the 15th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival are EC$100 or US $40 per person, per night.
Now in its 15th consecutive year, the festival attracts both locals and visitors alike. It features various musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary music. Past artists have included such prominent acts as John Legend, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Air Supply, Dionne Warwick, Billy Ocean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Biggie Irie and Lord Nelson.
