Port Zante welcomed the luxury cruise liner Brilliant Lady to St. Kitts waters today in a ceremony marking the vessel’s maiden call to the Federation.
BASSETERRE: The Virgin Voyages ship arrived at Port Zante where officials conducted a traditional plaque exchange aboard the vessel, signaling what authorities described as “a deepening partnership” between the cruise line and St. Kitts.
The St. Kitts delegation was led by Tivanna Wharton, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, alongside Adeola Moore, Chief Executive Officer of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA), and Calvin Duggins, Chief Operations Officer at SCASPA.
Representatives from the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and local port agent Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. joined the officials in exchanging commemorative tokens with the ship’s Captain and crew.
The arrival represents a significant development for St. Kitts’ cruise sector, as Virgin Voyages expands its Caribbean itinerary. The plaque exchange ceremony formalized the vessel’s initial visit and established protocols for future calls to the island.
Port Zante has been positioning itself as a premier cruise destination in the Eastern Caribbean, and the addition of Virgin Voyages’ modern fleet to its roster of visiting ships strengthens that reputation.
The Brilliant Lady joins other major cruise vessels regularly calling at St. Kitts, contributing to the Federation’s tourism economy and providing thousands of visitors annual access to the island’s beaches, historic sites, and cultural attractions
