Washington Archibald High Claims Under-14 Netball Title

BASSETERRE – Washington Archibald High School (WAHS) captured the 2025 Powerade/Dasani Under-14 Inter-Secondary Schools Netball Championship with a commanding 17-14 victory over Basseterre High School on Saturday at the Pam Tyson Netball Complex.

WAHS dominated from the opening whistle, establishing an early 5-1 lead in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the match. The team extended their advantage to 11-6 at halftime and 13-10 after three quarters before closing out the championship.

Shaniqua Campbell led the scoring attack for WAHS with 10 goals from 19 attempts, while Lennique Warner contributed 7 from 17 attempts. Warner’s accuracy throughout the tournament earned her the Most Accurate Shooter award and Most Outstanding Player honors for the championship match.

For Basseterre High, T’Koidra Huggins top-scored with 8 goals from 14 attempts, supported by Dureneique Henderson’s perfect 2-from-2 shooting. Ni’Kenya Francis earned Most Outstanding Player recognition for BHS and was named Most Outstanding Attacking Player for the tournament.

In the third-place playoff, Cayon High School edged Dr. Denzil L. Douglas Secondary School 28-25 in a thrilling contest. After DDLDSS leveled the match 21-21 in the third quarter, Cayon’s Vhyseante Williams delivered when it mattered most, finishing with 18 goals. Williams swept the tournament’s major individual honors, claiming Most Goals and Most Valuable Team Player awards.

WAHS’s Tyronique Allen was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, while Basseterre High received the Fair Play Award, capping an exciting season for the federation’s young netball talent.
