Wheelchair-bound man shoots lover dead in Trinidad

Port of Spain, Trinidad (CMC) — Police are searching for a man in a wheelchair who shot and killed his 19-year-old girlfriend over the weekend.

Police said Salma Chadee was shot at her home on Saturday night while in the company of relatives and the wheelchair-bound man, who broke his legs in a car accident recently.

They said the man, who is also wanted in connection with the murder of another woman, Sherlene Mahangoo-Charles, and injury to her 14-year-old daughter, shot the woman several times following an argument.

So far 22 people have been killed here since the start of the year.
