Women Gather for Valentine’s Health and Wellness

BASSETERRE – First Lady Mrs. Diani Prince-Drew hosted a Valentine’s Day brunch focused on women’s health, creating what participants described as a safe and supportive space for open dialogue about critical wellness issues.

The Love, Health and Wellness event brought together women aged 21 and older to discuss menstrual health, menopause, hormonal balance, mental wellness, and self-care practices.

“Thank you to all the incredible women who participated in our Love, Health and Wellness Valentine’s Brunch and helped create such a safe, supportive, and uplifting space together,” Mrs. Prince-Drew said following the event.

The First Lady expressed special appreciation to Ms. Saros Hendrickson and Dr. Dasima Martin-Burkett, who shared their expertise with attendees. Their presentations addressed various aspects of women’s health that are often considered taboo or difficult to discuss openly.

“Experiences like this reaffirm my commitment to creating spaces where women feel seen, supported, and empowered,” Mrs. Prince-Drew stated.

The brunch represented more than a social gathering, organizers emphasized. It provided an opportunity for women to learn from healthcare professionals, reflect on their own wellness journeys, and connect with others facing similar health challenges and experiences.

The event aligns with the Joy Project’s broader mission to empower and uplift vulnerable members of society, particularly women and children. By addressing sensitive health topics in a supportive environment, the initiative aims to break down barriers that prevent women from seeking information and care.

The Valentine’s Day timing underscored the message of self-love and prioritizing one’s health and wellbeing within a community of support.
