BASSETERRE: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources officially began its World Food Day Week of Activities with a heartfelt Church Service at Rivers of Living Waters Christian Centre, Lime Kiln, St. Kitts, on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
The service brought together staff and well-wishers as the Ministry gave thanks for another year of growth, resilience, and the collective effort to ensure food security across St. Kitts and Nevis.
Leading the group was the Honourable Samal Duggins, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources. He was also accompanied by Miguel Flemming, Permanent Secretary in Agriculture and Chair of the World Food Day committee, Ashadi Duncan, who extended gratitude to the congregation and reminded all of the importance of working “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.”
This spiritual start sets the tone for a week of educational activities, stakeholder engagement, and celebrations of our local farmers, fishers, and food producers.
