BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 26, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — Two former Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League champions who are seeking to reclaim the coveted title this year met on Tuesday August 25 as the first round of the league’s 25th edition draws to a close, but in a domino competition only one team wins.
The highly anticipated game, which was held at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project, saw Lodge Domino Club play a cool and calculated game when they come up against Unity Patriots Domino Club whom they beat 13-9. However, Unity Patriots are still ahead of Lodge in terms of points standing.
Another highly anticipated game was the clash of frontrunners Phillips Domino Club and Tabernacle Domino Club who when they met were neck-to-neck in points standing. But at the end of the game which was held at the Tabernacle Police Station, Phillips surged ahead and topped in points standing after overcoming their challengers 13-8.
In a second game held at the Tabernacle Police Station, Christchurch Domino Club did not have time to console their colleagues at the bottom of the league’s points standing table Giants Domino Club whom they thrashed 13-5.
Defending champions Parsons Domino Club, who are lagging behind in terms of points standing squeezed a 13-10 win over Molineux Domino Club in a game held at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux. A second game at the same venue saw Unstoppable Domino Club beat Saddlers Domino Club 13-9.
Sylvers Domino Club brought to a halt their losing streak by clearly beating Small Corner Bar Domino Club 14-7 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project. In the second game held at the same venue, Mansion Domino Club spilled Guinness Domino Club courtesy of a 14-5 beating.
In points standing as at the end of the twelfth segment of play in the first round of this year’s league, Phillips made a break and now have a clear lead, having amassed 57 points. They are followed by Unity Patriots who have 52 points, and Tabernacle and Lodge who each have 51 points.

]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 24, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — Former Unity Patriots Domino Club player, now captain of the sensational Phillips Domino Club in the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, was on Sunday evening August 23 left dumbfounded when his team snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at the behest of his former team.
Appearing in the eleventh segment of play in the first round of the league’s 25th edition, and playing at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project, Allington Berridge who captained Phillips faced his former team mates on the former champions Unity Patriots side captained by Desmond ‘Fergie’ Rawlins.
Phillips had brought to the table the advantage of having won nine of the ten previous games against Unity Patriots who had won eight out of the ten previous games. This showed in the early stages of the game when Phillips led 5-0 which left the few spectators assuming that Phillips were on the way to winning their tenth game and extend the lead in points standing.
That was not to be as Desmond ‘Fergie’ Rawlins and his players showed the players from Phillips why they were the former champions of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League and are on the warpath to reclaim it. Unity Patriots turned the tables and at the end of the game beat Phillips 13-8, and won the maximum points.
In another almost similar scenario at the neighbouring Lodge Community Centre, the other former champions Lodge Domino Club who were meeting Guinness Domino Club were in the early stages trailing 1-4, before they upped their game and comfortably won 13-9.
Defending champions Parsons Domino Club, also in a game held at the Lodge Community Centre, beat Giants Domino Club 13-8.
One of the frontrunners in the first round of this year’s league, Tabernacle Domino Club continued with their winning form by beating Christchurch 13-11 in a game played at the Tabernacle Police Station. Also at the same venue, Saddlers Domino Club scrapped through with a narrow 13-12 win over Mansion Domino Club.
In the games held at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux, Unstoppable Domino Club whitewashed Sylvers Domino Club 13-3, and Small Corner Bar Domino Club beat Molineux Domino Club 13-9.
Even though at the end of the eleventh segment of play Unity Patriots, Phillips, and Tabernacle have each won nine games and lost two, Unity Patriots lead in points standing.
