Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 13, 2021 (ZIZ News): Amory Bakery has been awarded winner of the corporate segment of the Celebrate SKN Christmas Decoration Competition.
At a Ceremony at the Bakery on Victoria Road on Tuesday, Director of Culture Troy Mills, supported by members of Celebrate SKN presented the trophy to Operations Manager at Amory Enterprises Zovia Knight.
Mr. Mills said the Department of Culture was pleased to be the sponsor of the winning trophy.
“ Last year when Celebrate SKN approached the Department of Culture to sponsor a trophy for the competition hey were having we were very much elated to be afforded that opportunity and this afternoon as director of culture, it gives me great pleasure to award the first place trophy to the winner in the corporate sector.”
Owner and Chairman of Amory Enterprises Ernest Amory thanked the entities involved in selecting the bakery for the award.
“We were unaware that we were being judged for this competition. We love to make the place beautiful and so we continue to do it as we would any time of the year. I want to take the opportunity to thank you and the minister Jonel Powell for giving us this trophy.”
The Celebrate SKN Christmas Decorating Contest was listed as an activity on the Sugar Mas 49 Calendar of events.
The event also saw 5 persons being awarded for the best house/ yard segment of the competition.
]]>Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 5th, 2020 (ZIZ News) On Tuesday Celebrate SKN presented the trophy and prizes to the winner of its Christmas Decorating competition.
Natasha Ritchen of Taylor’s housing Extension was adjudged the winner of the first annual Celebrate SKN Christmas Decorating Contest.
The contest invited persons with “the best creative decorated yard/ house” to participate in the contest which ran from December 14th to 20th.
Ritchen whose display featured all aspects of Christmas, said it was a good feeling to have won the contest. She said decorating the house is something her family does annually.
“It feels wonderful. It’s the first time I win anything so it’s a wonderful feeling,” she said. “ We normally does decorate every year, for maybe about the past 15 years or so, so it’s something that we enjoy, me and my mom and everybody, we enjoy doing it, so it’s nice; it’s Christmas.”
The first place trophy and prize were presented by Celebrate SKN representative Karina Phillips Sommersal, who congratulated her on her accomplishment.
“Natasha, On behalf of Celebrate SKN, we want to congratulate you on winning the first ever Christmas decorating contest. You Christmas decorations were definitely off the charts and we just want to congratulate you and congratulate you with this trophy as our first place winner as well as a cash prize for your hard work.”
In second place for the Celebrate Skn Christmas Decorating Contest was Venetta Kelly Glasford of Molineaux. Nerissa Wilson of Ottleys Village placed 3rd and Shorna Martin of Molineaux placed fourth. In fifth place was Chenelle Bart of Cabbage Tree Project Cayon.
