BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 25, 2023 (ZIZ Newsroom/Press Release): Hasani McDonald has been elected as President of the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association (SKNYPA) following its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, September 24.
Also, following the elections Jalen Monzac will serve as Vice President; Trosonya Douglas as General Secretary; Vikell Edwards-Douglas as Treasurer and Malyka Howell as Public Relations Officer. The electoral process was supervised by Chairman of the Electoral Council, Dennis Knight and two honorary members Sam Condor and Dwyer Astaphan.
The AGM was held under the theme “Energized at 22: Leading the Way for Our Nation’s Youth.”
In presenting his End of Year Report, Immediate past president Mauriel Knight listed some of the significant accomplishments of the Association which include “successful hosting of SKNYPA Youth Forum, the formal establishment of diplomatic ties with the National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda, establishment of a working relationship with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, creation and successful staging of Youth Lounge with SKNYPA and successful working visit by SKNYPA to St. Johns, Antigua for the Second Joint Youth Assembly.”
The Featured Speaker was SKNYPA Alumnus, Patrice Harris who served as President from 2019-2021.

Basseterre, St. Kitts 31st August 2020 (St Kitts National Youth Parliament Association)—The 2020-2021 Executive for the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association was elected at the 19th Annual General Meeting held at the CUNA Caribbean Conference Center at the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions Headquarters on Sunday 30th August. The theme of the event was Leadership: Precision and Performance.
Among the highlights of the Annual General Meeting was the Induction of Honorary Members, Honorable Akilah Byron-Nisbett and Honorable Jonel Powell. They have now joined the present cohort of Honorary Members which include the Late Desmond E Ward (founding member), Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley (founding member), Sir Samuel W. Tapley Seaton GMCG, CVO, QC, JP, LLD, Mr. Charles Wilkin Q.C., Mr. Jose Lloyd, Mr. Dennis Knight BA MBA, Ms. Marcella Liburd, Mr. Sam Condor and Mr. G.A. Dwyer Astaphan.
Outgoing president, Ms. Patrice Harris gave her end of year report and challenged the membership to “never take it lightly when we say our pledge on Thursday evenings, ‘I pledge myself, time, talents and spirit to promote the cause, work and interest of the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association through self-respect and team work” Harris said. “May we never rest on our laurels and may we inspire a generation of whom will finish the great work we have begun.”
Ms. Patrice Harris was returned to the position of President and Mauriel Knight as Vice President The other members of the newly elected executive are Jeremiah Welcome (General Secretary), Kerissa Roberts (Treasurer) and Malakhi Ferguson (Public Relations Officer). The electoral process was supervised by two honorary members and one alumnus: Mr. Sam Condor, Mr. Dwyer Astaphan and Mr. DeHaan Henry.
Mr. David Lake, Country Manager for Flow, delivered the keynote address to the association on the topic Leadership: Precision and Performance. In highlighting the challenges of being a leaderhe said “Though each day is a challenge, each day gives you a brand-new opportunity to get better. You can never be perfect at the job of leadership. You can only give it all you’ve got.” Mr. Lake further encouraged the members to never give up and to not only strive to be a successful leader, but a great one.

PACE is an organisation advocating for the advancement of arts and entertainment in the federation of St. Kitts & Nevis.
Azem Bailey is the president of pace following the elections held at Oceans Bar at the Frigate Bay Strip on Wednesday.
Bailey is supported on the executive committee by Vice President, Maurice “EK” Flanders, Secretary; Desi Brown, Treasurer; Kimara “Lady Diva” Williams, Assistant Secretary & Treasurer; Wrennelcia “Paige” Thomas and Public Relations Officers; MJ Byron and Stephen Smith.
THE PACE Board of Directors is lead by Chairman Adrian Lam and includes Performing Arts Director Kenny Warner Visual Arts Director Carla Astaphan and Directors of Service Providers Zachary Getz and Ulric “Ricki” McCall.
On Wednesday July 1 2020, the steering committee set out to provide information to interested individuals and prospective members about PACE and the way forward to fully establish the organization.
