Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 1st, 2021 (ZIZ News) The police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday evening.
According to a police report officers responded to a report of a shooting incident in Newtown sometime after 6 p.m.
Upon arrival, they met the motionless body of 24-year-old Leon Phillip of La Guerite laying on the ground with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the chest.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced him dead. Personnel from the Forensic Services Unit processed the scene and collected pieces of evidence.

]]>Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 12, 2021 (RSCNPF): The Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at Lower Thibou Avenue on January 11, 2021.
Sometime after 6 p.m. on Monday, the Police received a report of a shooting incident in which two persons were wounded. Several units responded.
Upon arrival, the motionless body of 20-year-old Lamont Heyliger of McKnight was met laying on the ground with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds about the body. A second individual, 19-year-old Jahquan Merritt of Fort Thomas Road, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to the JNF General Hospital via the Emergency Medical Service ambulance.
Preliminary investigations so far have revealed that Heyliger, Merritt and other persons were in a shed when an individual shot both men. The District Medical Officer arrived at the scene and pronounced Heyliger dead. Merritt succumbed to his injuries that same night.
Personnel from the Forensic Services Unit processed the scene and collected items of evidential value. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

]]>Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 30, 2020 (RSCNPF): The Police received a report sometime after midday on December 29, 2020, that the body of a man was found on Phillips Mountain.
Upon arrival at a mountainous area in Phillips Village, the body of 60-year-old Charles Lowry, formerly of Phillips Village, was met laying on his back. The District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced him dead. Preliminary investigations so far have revealed that Lowry left home at about 7 a.m. Tuesday and went to the mountain as he normally would to set his trap.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. Personnel from the Forensic Services Unit visited and processed the scene. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The Police received a report of a body being found in the Dieppe Bay Cemetery at about 11 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020. They responded and upon arrival the motionless body of 54-year-old Bevinton Francis was found laying on the ground with what appeared to be multiple wounds to the head. Preliminary investigations so far have revealed that Francis, who lived nearby, was on his way home when he was attacked by an unknown assailant.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced him dead. Personnel from the Forensic Services Unit processed the scene and collected items of evidential value. An autopsy will be performed on the body to determine the exact cause of death.

]]>Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 01, 2020 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating a fatal incident at sea which involved a 17-year-old male.
Police investigations into the matter are currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. However, investigations so far have revealed that sometime after 2 p.m. on August 31, the 17-year-old was at Gallows Bay in Charlestown when he experienced difficulties at sea. Efforts by members of the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. The District Medical Doctor arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead. Personnel from the Forensic Services Unit processed the area.
An autopsy will be performed shortly to determine the exact cause of death.
