BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, November 19, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — A grand prize giving ceremony to be held on Sunday November 22 at the Edgar Gilbert sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux brings down the curtain on the 25th edition of the country’s longest running domino league, Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League.
“League sponsor, Prime Minister and Area Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, will preside over this year’s prize giving ceremony which will be held on Sunday November 22,” announced President of the league’s Executive Committee, and League Coordinator, Mr Calvin Farrell.
He added: “We will have a packed and entertaining afternoon which will start with an exhibition domino game between two female teams. One is a team from Newton Ground, and the other will be made up of female players from the various clubs in the Constituency Number Seven Domino League. The winner will get four cases of drinks. After that game we will have a three-hand competition involving all the teams in the league.”
The ceremony which takes place from 1:00 pm will see the new champions, Tabernacle Domino Club, walk away with the championship trophy and a cash prize of $5,000. In a hard fought competition, Tabernacle who had returned to the league after a two-year hiatus overcame the other thirteen teams in the competition to earn the title for the first time.
At the end of the round robin stage, which due to Covid-19 protocols that were in place saw all games played at three venues, Phillips Domino Club finished at the top. However in the last four play-offs they found themselves in the fourth position.
Immediate past champions, Parsons Domino Club, did not feature in the last four and neither did they qualify to play in the Best of the Rest competition on grounds of having forfeited one of their games.
“The second placed team in this year’s competition, Unity Domino Club, will receive a cash prize of $3,500 for their gallant effort,” said Mr Farrell. “Lodge Domino Club will receive $2,500 for the third place, while for the fourth position Phillips Domino Club will receive $2,000.”
Other cash prizes, according to Mr Farrell, will be awarded to the three top winners in the Best of the Rest competition, to include $800 for this year’s champions, Small Corner Bar Domino Club; runners’ up Sylvers Domino Club will receive $600; and third placed Unstoppable Domino Club will receive $400. Phillips Domino Club will receive an additional $400 for having led at the end of the round robin stage.
“There will be other consolation prizes, some to be given out by friends of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, which will be made known at the prize giving ceremony on Sunday,” said Mr Farrell. “All other teams will receive two cases of drinks of their choice.”
Fourteen teams took part in this year’s Constituency Number Seven Domino League. They were Tabernacle Domino Club, Unity Domino Club, Lodge Domino Club, Phillips Domino Club, Small Corner Bar Domino Club, Parsons Domino Club, Molineux Domino Club, Christ Church Domino Club, Saddlers Domino Club, Mansion Domino Club, Sylvers Domino Club, Unstoppable Domino Club, Guinness Domino Club, and Giants Domino Club.
“Looking at the last twenty four years, this twenty-fifth year I think has been the best year I have seen for such a long time, and I wonder if it is because of the Covid why the teams them stepped up with their masks and their uniforms and really put all out to be where they are now,” remarked President of the league’s Executive Committee, and League Coordinator, Calvin Farrell.
]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, October 19, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — Tabernacle Domino Club are the 2020 Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League champions after beating former champions Unity Domino Club 13-7 in the second of best of three final encounters on Sunday October 18.
The first time winners of the coveted trophy, Tabernacle Domino Club could not have done it in a better fashion than to clinically dismantle the former champions as their fellow villager Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, watched the entertaining game that was played at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.
Dr Harris, who is also the Area Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Seven, is the sponsor of Constituency Number Seven League, the longest running domino league in the country which is into its 25th year.
When the two teams met in the first of the best of three final game encounters on Thursday October 15, Tabernacle under the captainship of Jason ‘Spoon’ Nisbett beat Unity 13-9. When they took to the tables on Sunday, all Tabernacle Domino Club needed was a simple win to be crowned champions of the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, which they did and even improved on their scores.
The game which was refereed by David Brandy and Octavia ‘Tackie’ Huggins on table one, and Joy Rogers and Calvin Farrell on table two, started at 4:22 pm with Sean Maryat and Kerone Roache for Tabernacle and Everton Boon and Antonio ‘Marsh’ Phillip for Unity on table one. On table two were Captain Jason ‘Spoon’ Nisbett and Ryan St. Marie for Tabernacle and Captain Desmond ‘Fergie’ Rawlins and Davin Henry for Unity. Hope Bradley was the scorer.
Unity returned the first winner points three times on each table, but Tabernacle drew the first blood with a 111-59 points win on table two, which was quickly followed by a 125-90 points win from table one. However, before they could celebrate the 2-0 games lead, Unity raced to 123 points against none by Tabernacle on table two for a bonus game to tie the score at 2-2.
Unity surged ahead 3-2 with another quick 104-68 points win from table two which saw Tabernacle’s Captain ‘Spoon’ Nisbett replaced on that table by Shaquille Sewell. As that was happening, Unity scored another game from table one. But back on table two, the coming in of Shaquille Sewell paid dividends for Tabernacle as they won the game by 104-80 points.
The two teams tied at 6-6 games, and from table one where Tabernacle’s Captain ‘Spoon’ Nisbett had relocated and playing alongside Kerone Roache, they attained 121 points before Unity could get a single point to earn them a bonus game which saw them lead 8-6. Not wanting to let their fellow villager and sponsor Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris down, Tabernacle went on an offensive and won another three straight games to lead 11-6.
Tabernacle were on course to win their 12th game from table one as they led 72-0 points, but they lost focus and Unity came from behind to take that game at 133-72 points for their seventh game.
However what transpired on table two left everyone in the community centre thoroughly entertained, as Shaquille Sewell and Ryan St. Marie amassed points unchallenged and accompanied with much fanfare, and at exactly 7:30 pm they attained 100 points to nothing by Unity players, which gave them a bonus game, sending their scores to 13-7, and the 2020 championship came with the win.
Domino action continues tonight (Monday October 19) with the second of two final encounters for the Best of the Rest tournament championship at 7:00 pm at the same venue between Small Corner Bar Domino Club, who have the advantage having won in their first encounter, and Sylvers Domino Club. If Small Corner Bar win, they will be crowned the new Best of the Rest Tournament champions but should Sylvers win, it will trigger a tiebreaker ‘super 100’ game to be played immediately.
]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, October 7, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — The battle for supremacy in the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League begun in earnest Tuesday evening October 6 when the top four teams met for their first encounters in a best of three semi-finals.
Two former champions, Lodge Domino Club and Unity Domino Club, in their pursuit to reclaim the coveted title now that defending champions Parsons Domino Club are out of the equation, met at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project where in a hotly contested encounter Lodge won 14-10.
Lodge had won their in the first round encounter this year when they beat Unity 13-9, but in the second round Unity avenged by winning narrowly – 13-12. The two teams will meet tomorrow Thursday October 8 for the second semi-final encounter and should Lodge win, they will book a place in the finals. However, a win by Unity will trigger off the third game.
The battle between two teams which made a comeback to the league after a one-year hiatus, Phillips Domino Club and Tabernacle Domino Club, took a dramatic turn Tuesday evening when Tabernacle turned the tables on their contemporaries Phillips and beat them 13-11 in the game played at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux.
During the preliminaries, Phillips who emerged at the top of points table had an upper hand over Tabernacle who they had easily beaten 13-8 in the first round and 13-7 in second round. Should Tabernacle continue with their newly found vigour tomorrow Thursday when they meet for the second semi-final encounter, they will book a place in the finals.
Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, which is the longest running such league in the Federation, is sponsored by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Area Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.
In the meantime confusion surrounds results of the three semi-final games played on Monday October 5 in the Best of the Rest competition. Sylvers Domino Club had beaten Christ Church Domino Club 14-10 at the Lodge Community Centre, while Small Corner Bar Domino Club had beaten Mansion Domino Club 13-10 at the same venue, and Unstoppable Domino Club had beaten Molineux Domino Club 13-10 at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex.
With six teams competing in three semi-final games, rules governing Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League clearly state that of the three winning teams, the one with the best results gets a bye into the finals while the other two battle it out for the other slot in the finals.
The fact that Sylvers had a winning score of 14 games, as opposed to Small Corner Bar and Unstoppable who each had scored 13 games, League Coordinator Calvin Farrell had initially declared that Sylvers had received the bye to go into the finals.
Sylvers earned a bonus after they would have been leading 12-10 and only needed one game to win, but playing from table two Captain Octavia ‘Tackie’ Huggins and player Valencia Alexander raced to 100 points before Christ Church could earn a single point, which as a result won them a bonus game and the coveted 14-10 win.
League Coordinator Calvin Farrell, who is also the President of Constituency Number Seven Domino League Executive Committee, has however reported that one of the captains whose team won by a 13 games margin has disputed that Sylvers with their 14 games win had the superior result and called for a vote to determine the team that gets a bye. Though unconstitutional, as far as rules governing the tournament are concerned, majority of committee members have voted Sylvers on the league’s WhatsApp chat.
]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 30, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — Former champions, Lodge Domino Club, on Tuesday September 29 sailed into the final four of the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, as defending champions Parsons Domino Club and the other former champions Unity Domino Club suffered shock defeats.
Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League, which is the longest running such league in the Federation, is sponsored by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, and Area Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.
Playing on the grounds of the Tabernacle Police Station, former champions Lodge beat Domino Club 14-5, to gain enough points to send them into the final four following their win on Monday September 28 at the Lodge Community Centre after they beat Giants Domino Club 13-5 in their game which had been rescheduled from Sunday September 27.
However, Small Corner Bar Domino Club upset defending champions Parsons Domino Club 13-8 in their game held at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project; while at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex in Molineux, Mansion Domino Club scattered former champions Unity Domino Club with a 13-7 beating.
Phillips Domino Club had to come from behind, but in the process lost a point to a determined Giants Domino Club whom they ended up beating 13-11 when they met at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion. With that win, the team has jumped to the top of the points table.
In other games, Tabernacle Domino Club beat Sylvers Domino Club 13-8 in their encounter at the Lodge Community Centre; Molineux Domino Club beat Saddlers Domino Club 13-8 in a game played on the grounds of the Tabernacle Police Station; while at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project, Unstoppable Domino Club spilled Guinness Domino Club 13-8.

The teams whose games were rescheduled will complete their preliminary fixtures in the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League on Thursday 1st October at the usual three venues, with all games starting at 7:00 pm.
Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux will be the venue for Phillips vs. Unstoppable, and Small Corner Bar vs. Christ Church games; Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project will host Giants vs. Saddlers, and Lodge vs. Sylvers games; while only one game, Parsons vs. Mansion will be played on the grounds of the Tabernacle Police Station.
]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 25, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — With only two segments of play left before the second and final round of the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League concludes, dramatic results were recorded on Thursday September 24 as teams clamoured for the final four positions.
Defending champions Parsons Domino Club, who have a slim chance – if any – for the last four slots, muddied the waters for frontrunners and former champions Unity Domino Club when they beat them 13-11 in a game played at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project.
The loss by Unity was a much welcome gain by Phillips Domino Club whose beating of Molineux Domino Club 13-4 in their encounter at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux solidified their second position on points table. With two games left they have an outside chance of finishing at the top of the points table, since Unity who are at the top now have only one game to play.
Unstoppable Domino Club, who also have a slim chance of reaching the last four, after trailing 5-12 came from behind and upstaged former champions Lodge Domino Club through a narrow 13-12 win in their game played at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.
The other top contenders for the final four slots, Tabernacle Domino Club, eased their way through by narrowly beating Small Corner Bar Domino Club 14-11 in their game played on the grounds of Tabernacle Police Station. In a second game at the same venue, Sylvers Domino Club squeezed a narrow 13-12 win over Christchurch Domino Club.
Mansion Domino Club effectively took care of Giants Domino Club with a 13-3 beating at the Lodge Community Centre, while Guinness Domino Club collected maximum points after their intended opponents Saddlers Domino Club failed to show up for their encounter at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux.
Points standing at end of the eleventh segment in the second round: *Unity, 105 points; Phillips, 101 points; *Tabernacle, 97 points; Lodge, 92 points; Christchurch, 82 points; Unstoppable, 81 points; Parsons, 80 points; Saddlers, 70 points; Mansion, 70 points; Small Corner Bar, 56 points; Sylvers, 44 points; *Molineux, 36 points; Giants, 33 points; and *Guinness, 27 points.

]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 16, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — Sylvers Domino Club from Hidden Alley in Lodge Village, and the only team out of the fourteen in Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League that is captained by a female, Tuesday evening September 15 halted Molineux Domino Club’s short-lived winning form.
Molineux were in the 13th position out of 14 at the end of the first round of the 25th edition of the league and when the second round opened they lost the first three games. Then fortunes suddenly changed in the fourth segment when they humiliated former champions Unity Domino Club by handing them a 13-2 beating, and then went on to win the next two games.
Playing at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux on Tuesday, Sylvers were in their elements when they met Molineux as they won games with little opposition to the point of effortlessly leading 12-4.
At that point Sylvers needed only one game to win, but in that last game Captain Octavia ‘Tackie’ Huggins playing on table one along with Valencia Alexander raced to 100 points before Molineux could earn a single point which earned them a bonus game, and 14-4 win.
League leaders Unity Domino Club and Phillips Domino Club reaped maximum points in games where Unity beat Giants Domino Club 13-8 in a game played at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project, and Phillips humiliated Mansions Domino Club 13-2 in a game played on the grounds of the Tabernacle Police Station.
Third placed Tabernacle Domino Club were not as lucky as in their meeting with Saddlers Domino Club on the grounds of the Tabernacle Police Station they lost a point to their rivals in their 13-11 win. Former champions Lodge Domino Club scrapped through with a 13-12 win, also losing a point to Small Corner Bar Domino Club in their encounter at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.
In other games, defending champions Parsons Domino Club playing at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion without key player Marc Williams (Director of Marine Affairs), who had joined Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris on the popular Tuesday evening’s Leadership Matters, beat Unstoppable Domino Club 14-6; while Christchurch Domino Club beat Guinness Domino Club 13-9 at the Lodge Community Centre.
Points standing positions remain relatively unchanged with the exception of defending champions Parsons who have moved from position nine to seven. Their movement up two positions meant that Unstoppable dropped from position seven to eight, and Mansion slid from position eight to nine.
Points standing at the end of the seventh segment of the league’s second round: Unity, 91; points; Phillips, 88 points; Tabernacle, 85 points; Lodge, 80 points; Christchurch, 75 points; Saddlers, 69 points; Parsons, 68 points; Unstoppable, 65 points; Mansion, 63 points; Small Corner Bar, 45 points; Sylvers, 38 points; Molineux, 29 points; Giants, 28 points; and Guinness, 20 points.

Games continue on Thursday September 17 with the eighth segment of play in the second round of the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League taking place at the usual three venues. All games start at 7:00 pm.
Three games, Giants vs. Saddlers, Unity vs. Guinness, and Lodge vs. Sylvers will be played at the Lodge Community Centre; two games, Phillips vs. Unstoppable and Small Corner Bar vs. Christchurch, will be played at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux; while the grounds of the Tabernacle Police Station will be the venue for Mansion vs. Parsons and Tabernacle vs. Molineux games.
]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 14, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — A classic case of a team snatching defeat from the jaws of victory was witnessed, in total disbelief, early Sunday evening September 13 when Phillips Domino Club squandered a golden chance of extending their lead in the ongoing 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League.
When the sixth segment of the league’s second round opened, Phillips Domino Club were leading in points standing albeit by a single point and they were to face the second placed and former champions Unity Domino Club in a game played at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux.
The youthful Phillips players went into the offensive right from the word go by taking the first game from table two. Unity equalised from table one, and quickly moved up by grabbing another game from table two to temporarily lead Phillips by 2-1.
At that point Phillips upped their game and won games at will, twice attaining 100 points before Unity could win a single point in a game which would earn them a bonus game. Veiled premature celebrations appeared to have kicked in when they had the game at 11-2 as no one would have thought that Unity would recover from that deficit.
Unity players however did it by scoring game after game including winning a bonus game and were trailing 7-11, when Phillips won another game to make it 12-7 in their favour, but which painfully proved to be their last, as Unity went on to win the rest of the games including a bonus game to bring it home at 13-12 at 6:39 pm. With that hard fought win, the former champions are now at the top of points standing followed by Phillips.
Former champions Lodge Domino Club lost a point to the bottom of the points standing Guinness Domino Club who they beat 13-10 in a game played at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project.
Top title contenders Tabernacle Domino Club increased their chances by beating Christchurch Domino Club 13-11 in a game played at the Tabernacle Police grounds, while Saddlers Domino Club crushed Mansion Domino Club 13-3 at the same venue.
In other games, defending champions Parsons Domino Club beat Giants Domino Club 13-8 in their game at the Lodge Community Centre, and at the same venue Sylvers Domino Club edged Unstoppable Domino Club 13-12; while Molineux Domino Club continued their recently regained winning form by beating Small Corner Bar Domino Club 13-5 in a game played at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux.
Points standing at the end of the sixth segment: Unity, 85 points; Phillips, 82 points; Tabernacle, 80 points; Lodge, 75 points; Christchurch, 69 points; Saddlers, 68 points; Unstoppable, 65 points; Mansion, 63 points; Parsons, 62 points; Small Corner Bar, 44 points; Sylvers, 32 points; Molineux, 29 points; Giants, 28 points; and Guinness, 20 points.

]]>BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 14, 2020 (MMS-SKN) — Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex’s pavilion in Molineux was the action ground Thursday evening August 13 in which a team that had earlier lost all but one of their games ended the fairy tale winning streak of a fellow team in the first round of the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League.
Small Corner Bar Domino Club is a team that had won only one game in six outings since the league opened on July 28 and domino pundits had likened them to sheep going for slaughter when in the seventh segment of the first round they faced Phillips Domino Club who in their unbeaten six outings’ rampage had felled defending champions Parsons Domino Club and former champions Lodge Domino Club among others.
They say things don’t go as always planned, as Small Corner Bar Domino Club out of Lemon Hill in Lodge Village turned the slaughterers of the evening, and after a seesaw game inflicted the first loss to the unbeaten Phillips Domino Club via a welcome 13-11 beating.
Molineux Domino Club which had been on a losing streak in their first four outings until Sunday August 9 when they beat Mansion Domino Club, on Thursday evening won their second game by scrapping through with a narrow 13-12 victory over Guinness Domino Club at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.
All the other games of the evening did not produce any shock results as Saddlers Domino Club beat Christchurch Domino Club 13-10, and Tabernacle Domino Club also beat Giants Domino Club 13-10 in games held at the Tabernacle Police Station.
Defending champions Parsons Domino Club beat Sylvers Domino Club 13-7 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, while at the neighbouring Cuban Bar former champions Lodge Domino Club beat Mansion Domino Club 13-8.
In the second game held at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux, former champions Unity Patriots Domino Club stopped Unstoppable Domino Club in their own tracks with a 14-6 beating.
Meanwhile, in the rescheduled game between Phillips Domino Club and Saddlers Domino Club which was held on Wednesday August 12 at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project, Phillips maintained their then unbeaten run by beating Saddlers 13-8.
Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League which is the longest running such league in the Federation, is sponsored by Prime Minister and Area Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.
The eighth segment of play in the first round of the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League will take place on Sunday August 16 at three venues – Tabernacle Police Station, Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux, and the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project. All games start at 4:00 pm.
Three games, Unity Patriots vs. Guinness, Lodge vs. Sylvers, and Small Corner Bar vs. Christchurch will be held at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project. However, due to the Covid-19 protocols being observed, one of the games will be shifted to the neighbouring Cuban Bar.
The Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux will be the venue for the Phillips vs. Unstoppable, and Tabernacle vs. Molineux games, and Tabernacle Police
