BHS and WAHS shift system begins

(ZIZ)– Temporary relief has come for the students, teachers, and parents of the Basseterre High School (BHS) as Wednesday saw the start of a shift system between BHS and the Washington Archibald High school (WAHS).

The health and safety of students and teachers attending the Basseterre High School has been the topic of much discussion recently.

Nonetheless, the government of St. Kitts and Nevis, through the Ministries of Education and Health, have facilitated testing of the school to ensure its safety for the occupants.

As the school undergoes additional testing, the government, together with the school’s stakeholders have agreed to a shift system with WAHS.

Effective Wednesday 7th May students of the Washington Archibald High School will report to their school at 7:15am for the start of classes while those of the Basseterre High School will report at 1:15pm for a 1:30pm start of classes.

Honourable Marcella Liburd, who was acting as Minister of Education during the absence of Honourable Nigel Carty, also informed parents during an address to the nation Sunday night, that transportation has been made available to take students to their homes following evening classes.
