Minister of Culture, Hon Marcella Liburd, told ZIZ that when the work is complete Carnival Village will be more than just a place to stage shows.
“My understanding is that it will be two-fold. You will have a place where you can have Carnival, that will be covered so that rain, etc that used to affect us in the past won’t affect us and also part of it will be this area for the development of our art form,” she said.
Minister Liburd says the plans will be publicly launched soon and renovations are expected to begin before the end of the year.
