BASSETERRE — The Hon. Samal Duggins, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources, Entrepreneurship and Cooperatives, Sports and Creative Economy, hosted his Quarter 2 2026 press conference Wednesday, providing updates on progress, achievements and key initiatives across the ministries and departments under his portfolio.
The briefing brought together media representatives to discuss the work being carried out on behalf of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, with Duggins describing the event as a platform for transparency and accountability.
“The press conference served as an important platform for transparency and accountability, allowing us to share the work being done on behalf of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis while engaging directly with members of the media on matters of national interest,” Duggins said.
The minister thanked journalists who attended and posed questions during the session, noting the media’s role in keeping the public informed.
“I extend sincere thanks to the media personnel who participated, asked thoughtful questions, and continue to play a vital role in keeping the public informed,” he said.
Duggins also commended staff, leadership teams and stakeholders across the ministries and departments he oversees, crediting them for the progress highlighted during the briefing.
“The progress highlighted today is a direct result of their hard work, commitment, and unwavering focus on delivering meaningful results for the people we serve,” he said.
Looking ahead, Duggins said his ministries remain focused on keeping residents informed and strengthening accountability while pursuing initiatives intended to expand opportunity and improve quality of life across the Federation.
“As we move forward, we remain committed to keeping the public informed, strengthening accountability, and delivering initiatives that create opportunities, empower communities, and improve lives,” Duggins said.
