BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 3RD 2013 (CUOPM) – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has described as successful, the Easter Monday “Full Confidence” event organised by his governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.

“It was a day of confidence. In fact it was the first confidence rally, the first event to demonstrate confidence in the Labour Government that was organized by the Labour Party; and the nation responded tremendously to that call to demonstrate confidence in the current Labour Government,” said Dr. Douglas in response to a caller, who congratulated him on the huge turnout during Tuesday’s weekly radio programme “Ask the Prime Minister.”

“Thousands of people filled Black Rocks Pasture from every corner it was filled with people and with vehicles. A line of vehicles stretching for over a half mile I am told,” said Dr. Douglas, who is also the unchallenged National Leader of the 83-year-old political organisation.

Dr. Douglas used the opportunity to “thank our people who came out in solidarity and to show their support of confidence that they have in their government, their Labour Government of today.”

“I want to thank also the organizers who identified the artistes and who in the end performed very, very well,” said Dr. Douglas, who was of the view that “there was a strong call for them to come back to St. Kitts very shortly and it is going to be important that we continue to show our appreciation to these groups; those who would in the future show solidarity with the Labour Party Government.”

He used the opportunity to ask for support from party loyalists and the general public for a number of upcoming events ahead of the April 9th presentation of the 2013 Budget and the Labour Day activities in May.

Main Street, St. Pauls is the venue for a Political Meeting on Thursday 4th April.

“It’s the first public meeting of Confidence in the Labour Administration in support of the confidence that they have in the Labour Administration and so we want to invite you to that particular event as well. It’s in St. Pauls from 7:30 where we would have our first Public Meeting to show confidence and solidarity with the Labour Party Government.

This of course is the Pre- Budget Public Meeting which would be followed on Sunday Night, April 7th in Central Basseterre when we will have our second massive Public Meeting in show of support and solidarity and demonstrating confidence in the Labour Administration as it brings the necessary budgetary proposals to move our country forward in the immediate and medium term future,” said Dr. Douglas.

“We also of course will see all this as the prelude to the May Labour Day Activities which will come shortly,” said Dr. Douglas, adding: “thanks very much to the Morgan Heritage Group that came in and we say to you, we want to see you again….thank you very much for your performance.”
