NIP Leaders meet Governor General

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts– June 10, 2013 – The leaders of the National Integrity Party (NIP) paid a courtesy call on Governor General of St. Kitts-Nevis His Excellency Sir Edmund Lawrence on Thursday afternoon (6 June) at the Governor General’s House in Springfield, Basseterre.

The NIP delegation included Mr. Glenroy Blanchette, Political Leader; Mr. Roy Fleming, Deputy Political Leader; and Mr. Bernard Welsh, Party Chairman.

The NIP leaders presented themselves to the Head of State, congratulated him on his appointment to the post of Governor General, and shared their party’s vision for the future development of St. Kitts-Nevis. The delegation also exchanged ideas with the Governor General on various matters including integrity in public and other good governance issues.

The NIP delegation described their visit to Governor General Sir Edmund Lawrence as “a privilege and an honour”.

According to Party Leader Glenroy Blanchette, the meeting was a very cordial one in which His Excellency Sir Edmund congratulated the leadership of the NIP for taking the bold step in forming a political organization and extended an open invitation to the NIP leaders to visit his office again.

Blanchette said that his delegation left the meeting with a greater appreciation and respect for the office that Sir Edmund holds and the values that he stands for.
