SDA Jets nose dive to Calypso

(Sports Page)— The soaring SDA Jets took a nose dive on Sunday 8th March, as they engaged the Calypso Cricket team in a second division fixture at Cotton Ground.

SDA Jets won the toss and batted first on a placid pitch and were bowled out for a paltry 47 runs.

Frank Monzac started the slide with his left arm leg spinners and at one time the Jets were on 2 wickets for 0 run, with Monzac on a hat trick, which was averted.

Elroy Kelly top scored with 16; Charles Morton got 13.

For the Calypso men, Frank Monzac bagged 3 wickets and Ravindra Balgobin; and Jamie Cornelius, got 2 wickets each.

When the Calypso men batted, there was an early run out, but after that they wasted little time in getting to the small target. They were 48 for 1 at the end.

Jamie Cornelius and D. Webbe excited the crowd with some scintillating hitting.

Calypso cricket team won by 9 wickets.
