St. Kitts hosts EVCA U-20 Volleyball Championships

The 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association Under-20 Beach Volleyball Championship is underway in St. Kitts, and the host nation got off to an impressive start on the opening day of competition.

According to the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association, the tournament served off Sunday at Marriott Beach in frigate bay, bringing together some of the region’s top young beach volleyball talent.

Host St. Kitts & Nevis is fielding four teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions, and the home teams wasted little time making their presence felt.

The national squads secured several victories throughout the day, including a number of hard-fought three-set matches backed by enthusiastic home support.

In the men’s competition, St. Kitts & Nevis recorded key wins over Anguilla, Bermuda, Dominica, Sint Maarten, the British Virgin Islands and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, strengthening their position as early championship contenders.

On the women’s side, Bermuda and St. Vincent and the Grenadines turned in strong opening-day performances, while Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia and Antigua & Barbuda also picked up important preliminary-round victories.

At the end of day one, the group leaders had begun to emerge.

In the men’s division, St. Kitts & Nevis One, St. Kitts & Nevis Two, St. Lucia and Antigua & Barbuda sit atop their respective groups.

Meanwhile, the women’s group leaders are St. Lucia, Antigua& Barbuda, Bermuda And St. Kitts & Nevis One.

According to the ECVA, the opening day showcased the region’s emerging volleyball talent, with players displaying impressive technical skill, tactical awareness and determination throughout the competition.

The tournament continues Monday at Marriott beach in frigate bay, where teams will battle for places in the next round and continue their quest for regional under-20 beach volleyball honors.
