Windies A Stay Ahead In First ‘Test’

Sports Page—Friday 27th September 2013– West Indies A , led by their two left arm leg spinners, effectively bowled out the India A team on day three of the first unofficial test match.

Permaul picked up a fiver and Miller four wickets to give their team a healthy lead.

Vice Captain Kieran Powell batted positively and got out towards the end of the day’s play as the Windies team tried to pile up quick runs. Kraigg Brathwaite, who batted solidly, also got out towards the end of the day, along with Deonarine.

With one more day remaining and with the Windies team leading by 314 runs, it is expected that they will bat positively for the first period of the final day’s play and put the home team under pressure later in the day, to try and save the game.
