9-y-o boy drowns in St Catherine River

St Catherine, Jamaica — A nine-year-old boy drowned on Monday, July 7 after he and his twin brother went swimming with relatives in St Catherine.

He is Timani Riley of Victoria district, Linstead in the parish.

According to reports from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), Timani and his brother went swimming in a river in Ashley district, Glengoffe and experienced difficulties while in the water. Residents managed to pull the boys from the water and transported them to hospital. Timani, however, was pronounced dead on arrival while his brother was admitted in stable condition.
